Welcome to the How to Invest in Italy podcast. I'm Tom Leonard, an American living just outside of Florence, Italy. This podcast is for people who think globally, act early, and want to discover new opportunities before everyone else does. When I moved to Italy last year, I expected culture, beauty, and great food. I was not disappointed. What I didn't expect was how much innovation is happening here and how few Americans are paying attention.
Italy has quietly built one of Europe's most interesting startup ecosystems. More than 15,000 innovative companies are working in fields like green tech, AI, advanced manufacturing, and more. Founders here are ambitious, international, and creative. But they're often overlooked. And that's where this project begins. How to Invest in Italy isn't a podcast only about startups or finance. It's a journey.
an exploration of what happens when American investors and Italian innovators connect. We'll talk with founders building real companies, investors who already made the leap, and the people shaping Italy's future economy. Now, I'm not coming to you as the expert. I'm coming as someone who's curious, someone who wants to learn alongside you from all of our guests. Understanding this opportunity means being here.
asking questions and talking with the people who are actually making things happen. We'll be diving into many of the misconceptions of investing in Italy that many Americans have, such as the Italian bureaucracy makes everything too slow. Italy doesn't have a startup scene. The returns can't compete with Silicon Valley and a lot more. If you've ever wanted to invest differently, to live a little differently,
and to see opportunity through a wider lens, this podcast is for you. We'll also be talking about living in Italy and what it takes to make the move here, if that's something in your future. The Investor's Visa is designed to allow individuals who invest in innovative startups in Italy to stay and to even work here. This is how I was able to come to Italy last year to live. It's worked out very well for me. Experts in our guest list will talk about the process.

taxes, buying a home, even how to get an Italian driver's license. It's all part of the adventure for those people interested in making Italy their home in the future. But of course, it's not a requirement for making a smart investment in Italy's future. So join me as we explore how Italy is changing and how smart investors can be part of that story. Benvenuti al podcast 'How to Invest in Italy'.
'How to Invest in Italy' non è solo un podcast su startup o finanza.
Approfondiremo molti dei 'falsi miti' legati all’investire in Italia,
Quindi unitevi a me mentre esploriamo 'come l’Italia sta cambiando'
Iscrivetevi al podcast 'How to Invest in Italy' ovunque ascoltiate i vostri podcast,
